Community Councils were set up over twenty years ago as consultative bodies to represent local views and concerns in their area, and their work depends upon those who are concerned about the environment in which they and their families live and are prepared to give their time to do what they can to influence those who create that environment.
You are very welcome to attend one of our meetings in the Carrick Centre, Main Street, Houston (the third Wednesday of each month except July, August and December, at 7.30 pm) and see what we do. They are public meetings and perhaps you might be encouraged to become more involved.
